Il 3 e 4 luglio ha avuto luogo in Ottawa il 75° Interstate Picnic Pratolano.   Grande era la serenità e nello stesso tempo anzietà la sera del 3 nell'attendere i partecipanti a questo annuale evento.   L'accoglienza per gli ospiti arrivati da lontano fatta a Villa Marconi era stata preparata con grande metico-losità dal comitato organizzatore tanto da sembrare un ricevimento nuziale.  

Tanti amici sono arrivati da vari angoli del Nord Ame-rica: da Brantford,  Hamilton,Toronto, Hartford, Montreal e da altri centri.    Il presidente Rocco Petrella dando il benvenuto  ha augurato che la manifestazione si ripeta per altri 75 anni malgrado l'effetto generazionale.  

 Il giorno del picnic è stata una bella giornata di sole, tutto è andato con precisione come un orologio svizze-ro, tutto come programmato.... giochi, canti, brindisi e chiacchiere, un mangiare molto gustoso ed una orche-strina ha allietata la giornata con bella musica colmata con l'esordio della bellissima voce di Nadia Petrella, soprano, nata ad Ottawa da genitori Peligni.     Dopo tante ballate per i più arzilli, la giornata è finita con i fuochi  d'artificio e con l'augurio di celebrare il 76° Picnic ad Hamilton, Canada, con e possibilmente tanto successo.

The 75th Pratolano Interstate Picnic was held in Ottawa on July 3rd & 4th. With much anxiety all participating guests awaited the evening of the 3rd, now part of the tradition to attend the reception dinner the eve of the picnic. The preparations to welcome the guests arriving from out of town was meticulously arranged by the organizing committee, such as to seem a nuptial reception.

 Many friends arrived from various parts of North America: from Brantford, Hamilton, Toronto, Hartford, Montreal and other centers.   President  Rocco Petrella, welcomed everyone, and  wished for the tradition to continue for another 75 years, in spite of the generation gap.

The day of the picnic turned out to be a wonderful one, blessed with much sunshine. Everything went precisely according to plan......games, song, toast and chat with great food and a live band  to gladden the soul with their music, enriched even more by the debut of soprano Nadia Petrella with her beautiful voice, born in Ottawa of pratolani parents. After much dancing by the more spry, sadly the day would come to an end  signaled by the explosions of fireworks and the wish to celebrate the 76th Picnic in Hamilton, Canada, hopefully with much success.
