Il 4 e 5 luglio scorso e stata la volta dell¹¹Associazione Pratola Peligna di Ottawa - Canada ad organizzare l’ ormai famoso INTERSTATE PICNIC PRATOLANO giunto al suo 63 anno di vita. Più di trecento partecipanti, convenuti da ogni parte del continente Nord-Americano, si sono riuniti per due giorni di celebrazione all’ insegna della pratolanità in questa bellissima citta della provincia dell’ Ontario. La festa iniziata la sera del 4 luglio presso la sala del Club Italiano della capitale canadese, con i tanti e commoventi incontri dei partecipanti, seguito da un ricco e succolento buffet preparato dalle brave e ingegnose donne pratolane di Ottawa. Infine, la festa si è conclusa con suoni e canti nostalgici della nostra terra natia. 

Invece, l’ intera giornata del 5 luglio e stata trascorsa sui verdi prati del ben attrezzato Vincent Massey Park della capitale canadese . Anche in questa giornata non sono mancati i soliti squisiti piatti tipici, musica, canti e i vari giochi (bocce, tre sette ecc.) dove giovani e meno giovani hanno trascorso una bellissima scampagnata.

 Un elogio e un particolare ringraziamento a tutti i componenti del Direttivo e dei Soci dell’Associazione Pratola Peligna di Ottawa e al suo geniale presidente sig. Ezio Di Bacco. Per la cronaca: I delegati delle varie comunità pratolane del Canada e degli Stati Uniti, presenti ad Ottawa, hanno armoniosamente deciso di affidare l’ edizione del 1999 alla Pratola Peligna Benevolent Society di Hartford, Ct. USA, e l’ edizione del 2000 al Club Pratolano di Toronto, Canada. In 1999 see you all in Hartford Connecticut USA

The fourth and fifth of July just past, was Ottawa's Pratola Peligna Association turn to organize the now renown INTERSTATE PICNIC PRATOLANO, celebrating it's 63rd anniversary.

 More than three hundred participants, convening  from throughout the North American continent, have gathered for the two day celebration at the display of Pratolani customs, in this beutiful city in the province of Ontario. The celebrations began the evening of July 4, at the Italian Club hall, of this capital city. The many emotional greetings exchanged by the arriving guests, were followed by a rich and inviting buffet, prepared by the wonderful and ingenuous Pratolani ladies of Ottawa. The evening concluded with the nostalgic sounds of music and songs of our heritage.

Picnic day  July 5th unfolded at Ottawa's Vincent Massey Park's sprawling lawns, with  seniors and young  savoring  traditional Italian dishes, enjoying the music and songs and taking part in the various games (lawn bowling, card games, etc.). All  enjoyed a wonderful day. Our thanks and praise go to the picnic committee, all members of the Ottawa Pratola Peligna Association and their bright president Mr. Ezio Di Bacco.

For the record: the delegates of the various Pratolani associations throughout Canada and the United States, have harmoniously decided to award the hosting of the 1999 Interstate  Picnic, to Pratola Peligna Benevolent Society of Hartford Ct., USA, and the 2000 to the Pratolano Club of Toronto, Canada.   See you all in Hartford Connecticut USA in 1999.
