Caro amico vengo ancora a dirti che purtoppo il terremoto ha mietuto vittime anche tra i figli dei pratolani. Una ragazza è morta sotto le macerie. Una terribile tragedia . Poveri ragazzi che studiano a L'Aquila!!! una storia terribile che segnerà la vita di tutti per molto tempo. Avevamo asssitito al terremoto negli anni scorsi. In particolare nei primi anni '80. Erano scosse forti. Ma questa volta è stata veramente dura. Tremore infinito e rumore assurdo. Case che ondulavano in preda alla forza della terra. Gente sballottata a destra e sinistra nel tentativo di mettere al sicuro i figli sotto le travi. Poi tutti in giro nella notte cercando di sconfiggere la paura attraverso il sostegno degli amici. Molti punti di ritrovo in campagna. E' stata dura e lo sarà per molti giorni perchè la tragedia è di tutti. Tutto l'Abruzzo si stringe intorno alle famiglie che hanno subìto lutti. I soccorsi dei volontari continuano ad essere imponenti. La Protezione Civile è all'opera da questa notte. Si tratta ora di assistere le famiglie che hanno avuto le case distrutte e lesionate. Si faranno delle tendopoli per assistere al meglio la gente che si trova in una città senza luce , ne acqua. Ora ci si è messa anche la pioggia a rovinare la situazione già precaria. Con l'aiuto di Dio si sta lavorando per offire una mano carica di affetto a queste persone. Ci sono paesini dove è crollato tutto. Le autorità sono da tempo in attività e si spera di poter alleviare il dolore alla gente che si ritrova d'un tratto senza casa e con niente in mano. Le scene trasmesse dalla TV sono veramente tremende . Ogni tanto una buona notizia accanto a quelle terribili: viene estratto dalle macerie una persona viva....Tutti si abbracciano...continiuano a scavare con più vigore...tutti fratelli. Una bimba viene estratta viva dalle macerie grazie alla mamma morta facendo da scudo a quel corpicino. La città si avvia a trascorrere la prima notte con grande dignità dentro tanti problemi. Ogni persona prega dal di dentro. La famiglia si stringe ancor più con un abbraccio carico di amore. Molte persone saranno ospite lontano da L'Aquila. Saranno usati gli alberghi sulla costa dell'Adriatico. Sono stati allestati dei vagoni  ferroviari con cuccette. Continuiamo a pregare ed a renderci utili, ognuno come può, anche con piccole cose. Non dobbiamo lasciare nessuno solo. Facciamo sentire il nostro affetto e la nostra amicizia a chi si trova, in un attimo, a vedere stravolta la sua vita. Lottiamo insieme a chi soffre. Abbiamo molti amici ma questi sono amici speciali. Facciamo sentire loro la nostra presenza oggi e sempre.

Dear friend, i come once again to tell you that unfortunately, the earthquake has taken lives even among Pratolani children. A girl died under the rubble. A terrible tragedy. Unfortunate for those students studying in Aquila!!! a terrible story that will mar everyone's life for many years. We gave assistance to earthquake victims in earlier years particularly in the ealy 80's. They were strong tremors, but this time it was really hard. Unending shaking and an absurd noise. Houses were quivering as prey to the might of the earth. People were being tossed left and rightwhile attempting to shelter their children is a safe place of the house. Later everyone pours out into the streets trying to lose the fear and find comfort among friends. Many seeking meeting places among the countryside. It was a very bad and it will continue so for many days, because it is everyone's tragedy. All of Abruzzo feels close to all those families that have lost loved ones and are now in mourning. The rescue operations by the many volunteers rescue workers continue through the night. Now it's a must to assist all of the families whose hose has been demolished or severely damaged. Tent cities will be erected to assist as best as possible the people who now find themselves without electricity and without water. To make matters worse it has now started raining. With God's help everyone is working to offer a hand full of affection to these people. There are small towns where every building is down. The authorities  have been in action for some time now in an attempt to alleviate the pain of those who now suddenly find themselves without a house or belongings.  The pictures on TV are really horrendous. Once in a while some good news accompanies the many bad ones, from the rubble the find someone alive. Everyone hugs...and then continue to dig with renewed energy....all brothers. A baby girl is found alive within the rubble, thanks to the mother who shielded her little body with her own. The city  now enters the first night with much dignity in the face of so many problems. Everyone prays from within. The family hugs closer together in an embrace full of love. Many people will be hosted far from L'Aquila. At their disposal are hotels along the Adriatic cost as well as train wagons with sleeping beds. Everyone is praying and making themselves useful as best as they can, even with small things. No one must be left behind. We will make our affection and friendship felt to those who in a blink of an eye have had their life turned upside down. We will fight together with who is suffering. We have many friends, many special friends. We will make them feel our presence now and forever.
