La terra continua a tremare mentre a L’Aquila, pian piano si cerca, nel dolore comune, di provare a vivere più dignitosamente. Molte persone che hanno perso tutto sono state trasferite agli alberghi sul mare così da far abbassare quella tensione che penetra nel profondo dell’anima. La solidarietà continua ad essere forte e tanta ancora ve ne sarà perché da ogni parte si stanno organizzando aiuti. A Pratola, che ricordiamo non ha subito  danni, fatta eccezione delle chiese, in presenza di più scosse di terremoto giorno e notte, molte persone preferiscono dormire in automobile. Si formano così gruppi di auto con dentro persone cariche di coperte. La notte in automobile  non è piacevole ma è sicura e così si sfida il buio per vivere con un po’ di serenità. Certamente chi ha vissuto quei momenti è rimasto impressionato. La reazione varia da persona a persona. C'e' chi preferisce dormire a casa e chi, forse anche per le responsabilità famigliari dovute ai figli piccoli, trascorre la seconda notte in auto.  In paese non si parla d’altro.  Chi ha la “casetta” in campagna preferisce viverci senza però disdegnare la piazza. Pasqua si avvicina. Sarà una Resurrezione particolare. Più carica di fede e di amicizia. Non so se ci sarà la processione del venerdì santo. Molti vorrebbero sostituirla con una fiaccolata in un posto sicuro. Una fiaccolata di preghiera per le vittime del terremoto. In TV le cose vanno avanti normalmente, nel mondo tutto procede secondo copione. La gente a L’Aquila piange i morti. Ma il mondo non rallenta. Questa stranezza della vita lascia pensare molto. La cosa bella è rappresentata dal fatto che tutti i governi del mondo si sono offerti di portare aiuto all’Abruzzo. Il nostro presidente del consiglio ha ringraziato  rifiutando per ora queste offerte e vuole provare a fare tutto con la forza degli italiani. Non è una sfida è forse la voglia di unire tutte le nostre forze verso un solo obiettivo. E la solidarietà non manca . Ad affiancare gli organi competenti ci sono e ci saranno tante persone. Tanti volontari che da alcuni giorni affiancano i bravi vigili del fuoco e gli uomini della protezione civile, la polizia , la finanza, i carabinieri, la polizia provinciale e forestale nonché l’esercito. Ho ascoltato una intervista ad una signora scampata al sisma…tra le lacrime faceva presente di essersi sentiva bene nel vedere tante persone preoccuparsi per lei. La gente sta facendo molto accanto alle istituzioni. Ho fatto poi le solite telefonate agli amici di L’Aquila. Uno di questi mi ha detto: L’Aquila non esiste ,L’Aquila è finita. Parole tragiche dette in un momento tragico. Un ragazzo di Pratola ferito lievemente a L’Aquila mi ha detto che è stata una esperienza dura e cruda. Non riesce a dormire e quindi ha deciso di andare a nord dagli zii nella speranza di trovare un po’ di pace interire e rilassarsi. Si è persa la normalità della vita…anche perché 4-5 scosse di terremoto al giorno rendono la vita diversa. Di notte poi sono ancor più dannose per la mente. Ci si sveglia all’improvviso e non si sa cosa fare. E’ una situazione molto strana. Speriamo che le scosse di assestamento diminuiscano perché così la normalità sarà riavvicinata e con essa la fiducia. Si continua a dormire fuori, dentro la auto ma sapremo reagire insieme alle istituzioni che si stanno prodigando come non mai. Sono veramente bravi. Bravi tutti per ciò che fanno a rischio della loro vita.               Un abbraccio da Mauro      

La terra trema ancora. Possiamo dire che sono stati raggiunti tutti i paesi colpiti dal sisma. La macchina organizzativa lavora  a pieno regime. Il governo è sempre presente e da sostegno ancor più agli operatori che lavorano giorno e notte per la popolazione. Ogni tanto un miracolo: una persona trovata viva. Lacrime.    Una donna anziana è rimasta sola al secondo piano di una casa tutta distrutta. Due giorni senza mangiare e senza vedere nessuno. Quando è stata tratta in salvo, una giornalista le ha chiesta cosa avesse fatto in questi due giorni senza cibo e acqua , la signora ha risposto: ho lavorato all'uncinetto. Si riavvicina la notte. Molti nella Valle peligna si preparano ad una nottata in macchina. Ho sentito amici di Sulmona, Popoli, Vittorito, Corfinio e Raiano: tutti in macchina con moglie e figli ad aspettare l'alba di un nuovo giorno...sperando che le scosse diminuiscano

The earth continues to shake, while in Aquila, with a common pain, one slowly tries to live with dignity. The many people who have lost everything, have been given shelter in the hotels by the ocean, in order to lower the tension penetreating the depth of their soul. Solidarity continues to be strong and growing, since help is being organized in many places. Even though, Pratola has not suffered much damage, (except for the churches), with the recurring day and night aftershocks, people still prefer to sleep in their cars. Thus forming groups of cars, filled with people and blankets. Spending a night in a car is not pleasant, but it is safe, so one braves the darkness, in order to live a bit more tranquil. It is certain that going through such moments, was truly an impressionable experience. The reaction is different from one person to the next. Some still prefer to sleep at home, while others, maybe for family responsibilities  for their children, are spending the second night sleeping in the car. It is the only talk of the town. Those who have a shed at the farm, prefer to live there now, without despising the piazza. Easter is nearing, it will be a special Resurrection, one recharged with more faith and friendships. I don't know if there will be a procession on Good Friday. Many would like to substitute it with a candle vigil in a safe place. A candle vigil with prayers for the victims of the earthquake. On TV, everything goes on as normal, and life continues on like a scripted play. The people of Aquila are mourning their dead. But the world won't slow down. This strange fact of life leads to many thoughts. The best thing is represented in the fact that all the governments of the world  have offered to help the people of Abruzzo. Our president of the counsel has offered his thanks, declining the help for now, wanting  to try to manage only with the strength of Italians. It is not a challenge, but maybe the desire to unite all of our forces under only one objective. There is no shortage of solidarity. There are many people that have joined to help  authorities such as the fire fighters, the civil protection agency, the federal police, the finance, the local police, the provincial and forestry police and even the army. I listened to an interview of a lady that escaped death from this quake....in tears she admitted to feel better seeing so many people concerned about her. The people are helping the authorities so much. I made the usual phone calls to some friends in L'Aquila. One of them told me: : L'Aquila is no more, L'Aquila is finished" Tragic words said at a most tragic moment. A young man from Pratola who suffered a mild injury in L'Aquila told me that it has been a painful and difficult situation, he is still unable to sleep and decided to see his aunt in northern Italy, in the hope of finding some peace and relaxation. Life's normality has been lost....also because 4-5 daily aftershocks transform one's life. the night aftershocks are even more harmful to peace of mind. You 're awakened suddenly and you do not know what to do. It is a very strange situation. Hopefully the aftershock will diminish, only when they stop one can try to get back to a sense of normality and trust. Until then we continue to sleep outside in the car, but we will be able to react together with the authorities who continue to do all they can, even putting their own lives at risk.                                                       

The earth continue to shake. By now all of the towns affected by the earthquake have been reached by the disaster response team who has been working full steam ahead. The government is always there, ready to support all who are working day and night to help the population. Every now and then we see a miracle: someone is found alive and we shed some tears. An elderly lady was found alone on the second floor of a collapsed house,  after two days all alone without food. When she was brought to safety, a reporter asked her what had she done for the two days alone with out food or water?  the lady replied: "I did some knitting".           The darkness of night is approaching and many in the Valle Peligna are preparing to spend another night sleeping in the car.    I heard from friend in Sulmona, Popoli, Vittorito, Corfinio, e Raiano:;everyone is in their car with their wife and kids, waiting for the dawn of a new day.....hoping that the tremors would end.
