Tre o quattro giorni fa una giovane
famiglia di pratolani scampata al terremoto di
L’Aquila è arrivata in paese per dimorare alla
vecchia casa paterna. “Finalmente potrò fare una
doccia!” ci ha confidato il nostro caro amico Edo
mentre scaricava l’auto dalle piccole cose salvate.
“Siamo salvi grazie al regalo del mio papà.
Pensa…quando io e mia moglie ci trasferimmo nella
nuova casa, tutti gli amici e famigliari vennero a
trovarci regalandoci molte cose belle. Mio padre…ci
regalò una corda dicendo << questa un giorno potrà
esservi utile>>. Trovammo il “regalo” particolare.
Non ci crederai ma grazie a quella corda siamo
riusciti a scendere dal secondo piano e a metterci
in salvo avendo avuto nel primo crollo la caduta
della gradinata. (Il padre di Edo era
l’indimenticabile Antonio Brandolini).
A Pratola: Continuano le scosse nell’aquilano e
continua quindi l’ansia dei cittadini che non
riescono a rilassarsi …soprattutto di sera. A
Pratola le scuole funzionano regolarmente anche se
si verificano alcune assenze riferite agli alunni
più piccoli. La popolazione cerca di andare avanti.
L’amministrazione comunale continua a tenere un
rapporto diretto con i cittadini e si trova ad
affrontare ogni giorno nuovi problemi. Con i
rilevamenti sulle case, iniziano a trovarsi
abitazioni inagibili. Il maltempo accentua ancor
più i disagi. Spesso il sindaco è chiamato ad
affrontare le emergenze dei cittadini in prima
persona. Alcune persone continuano a dormire in
auto. Da 16 giorni la situazione è… pesante. Agli
abitanti di L’Aquila e dei monti si è aggiunto il
problema del freddo e del fango. Neve sul Gran
Sasso. Ma la popolazione ha voglia di reagire.
L’Università sarà temporaneamente spostata a Carsoli
così potrà riprendere con più regolarità. La
tendopoli realizzata dai bravi addetti alla
protezione civile di Pratola al campo sportivo è
pronta per accogliere quei cittadini che potrebbero
trovarsi con l’abitazione inagibile. La notte
diventa più scura... mentalmente. Le scosse
registrate nelle ultime ore , una nel bacino di
Sulmona , sul Velino Sirente e sui Monti della Laga
non fanno certo bene al morale. La festa in onore
della Madonna della Libera si aprirà venerdì 1
maggio con l’arrivo della Compagnia di Gioia dei
Marsi che, anziché in Santuario, si porterà
all’oratorio dove verrà esposta la sacra statua.
Sabato 2 maggio saranno celebrate, sempre
all’oratorio , le messe ad ogni ora. Domenica la
processione sulle due grandi circonvallazioni per
evitare le insidie dei vicoletti. Questo il
programma proposto da padre Vito da concordare con
il sindaco.

Three - four days ago, after surviving the
earthquake in L'Aquila, a young Pratolani family
returned to their parents house in Pratola. "Finally
I will be able to take a shower" our friend Edo said
to us, while unloading from his car some of the
items he was able to save. "We are safe thanks to a
gitft from my father. To think that when my wife and
I moved to our new house, all our friends and family
came to visit and brought us many nice gifts. My
father instead, he gave us a rope and said "one day
you might need this" We found my father's gift
a bit odd. You wouldn't believe it.....thanks to
that rope we were able to climb down from the second
floor and out to safety after the first shock took
down the staircase. (Edo's father was the
unforgettable Antonio Brandolini)
Pratola:
The
tremors continue and so does the mental distress of
the people of L'Aquila and surroundings, making it
difficult to relax especially in the evening. The
schools in Pratola are back to normal operation,
even with the absence of some younger students. The
people are trying to move forward. The municipal
administration and staff continues to be at the
people's disposal and tries to meet the
new challenges that appear with each coming day. The
ongoing inspections of houses have begun to reveal
that some the houses are no longer safe to live in.
The bad weather accentuates the discomforts. Often
the mayor is personally called upon to confront the
problems facing the population. Some people out of
fear continue to sleep in their cars at
night......It has now been 16 days...........The
cold weather and the mud have added to the problems
facing the people of L"Aquila and surrounding
mountain towns. The Gran Sasso mountain is snow
covered. Still the people are determined to move
forward. The university will be temporarily
relocated to Carsoli in an attempt to restore
some normality. The tent encampment erected by the
members of the Civil Protection Agency of Pratola is
now ready to accommodate the people who might have
an unsafe home. Mentally....the nights seem
much darker. The latest aftershocks within the last
couple of hours in the Sulmona Basin, Velino Sirente
and in the Laga Mountains, are not beneficial to the
people's
morale.
The celebrations in honor of the Madonna della
Libera will begin Friday May 1st with the arrival of
the Compagnia of Gioia dei Marsi at the Oratory the
new location of the exposition of the sacred
statue instead of the Sanctuary. On saturday, May
2nd, the masses will be celebrated in the Oratory.
Sunday the procession will be routed through the two
main bypass routes avoiding the small and narrow
streets of the town. This is the proposed program by
father Vito, pending the mayor's approval.
