Organizzata dal GAP di Pratola si è svolta la corsa podistica notturna Città di Pratola. La partecipazione è stata ottima . Molte le squadre provenienti dalle varie citttà abruzzesi. La manifestazione è stata seguita da un foltissimo pubblico di appassionati che hanno seguito l'avvincente prova degli atleti. Molti i patecipanti pratolani (nella foto di gruppo), molti i ragazzi che si sono cimentati con entusiasmo alle gare loro riservate. Un grande successo dello sport nel giorno dell'indimenticabile ricordo di Dorando Pietri che a Londra, durante le olimpiadi del 1908, venne squalificato perchè un giudice lo aveva aiutato a rialzarsi a pochi meri dal traguardo ed a 20 minuti di vantaggio dal secondo classificato che fece ricorso anche se Dorando non aveva richiesto nessun aiuto. Il gesto sportivo di un giudice fece perdere la medaglia d'oro al campione di Carpi che però venne premiato, con una cerimonia ufficiale dalla Regina d'Inghilterra. Pochi mesi dopo Dorando si recò negli Stati Uniti per battere novamente chi aveva fatto il ricorso a Londra, confermando la sua grandezza sportiva. Pratola ha ricordato questo grande personaggio con una gara notturna dal particolare sapore di sport. Un grande evento curato ancora una volte dal Gruppo Amatori Podismo di Pratola che riesce a portare tanti atleti perchè l'organizzazione perfetta premia sempre.
 

 Night Road Race in Pratola Peligna  Organized by GAP (Gruppo Amatori Podismo - Amateur Road Racing Group)  - Excellent participation with many teams taking part from various Abruzzese cities & towns. The event attracted a multitude of passionate fans who had come to witness the riveting attempts of the athletes. Many participated from Pratola (as can be seen on the group photo), many youths were putting themselves to the challenges of the races reserved for them. A big success for the sport in remembrance of that day in London at the 1908 Olympics, when Dorando Pietri was disqualified a judge helped him to get back up on his feet without any request from Dorando, at few meters from the finishing line and  20 minutes ahead of his nearest opponent. This good gesture by the judge cost the Capri champion the gold medal, but would later be rewarded in an official ceremony by the Queen of England. A few months later Dorando went to race in the US and again defeated the athlete who had made an appeal in London, proving him true champion of the sport. Pratola remembered this great champion by holding a night race with a true sense of sport. A great event, once more taken care of by the Group Amatori Podismo di Pratola, that is alway capable to attract many athletes, because a perfect organization rewards always.
